General Motors assemblera la Chevrolet Aveo dans son usine de Coahuila

General Motors a annoncé qu'il assemblerait la Chevrolet Aveo dans son usine de Ramos Arizpe, dans l'État de Coahuila, à partir de 2027. Cette décision s'inscrit dans le cadre du Plan México visant à réduire les importations asiatiques et à stimuler la production nationale. Ce modèle figure parmi les meilleures ventes au Mexique.

Francisco Garza Rodríguez, président-directeur général de General Motors de México, a confirmé le projet lors d'une conférence à l'usine de Coahuila. Il a précisé que l'assemblage de la Chevrolet Groove débutera en 2027, suivi par celui de l'Aveo, qui est un modèle apprécié de la présidente Claudia Sheinbaum.Selon les données de l'Inegi, l'Aveo s'est vendue à 61 064 unités en 2025, se classant au deuxième rang juste derrière la Nissan Versa. Au cours des quatre premiers mois de 2026, 23 726 unités de l'Aveo ont été écoulées.Le secrétaire à l'Économie, Marcelo Ebrard, a déclaré que la production locale de 80 000 véhicules remplacera les importations asiatiques. Le projet vise à renforcer l'industrie automobile mexicaine et à créer des emplois.
