The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a heatwave warning for districts including Surat, Patan, Rajkot, Porbandar, Surendranagar, Morbi, Kutch, Ahmedabad and Botad until April 28 morning.

Kandla Airport recorded the highest temperature in Gujarat at 45.2°C, followed by Ahmedabad at 44.8°C, Amreli 44.5°C, Rajkot 44.4°C, Surendranagar 44.3°C, Gandhinagar 44.2°C, Bhuj 43.8°C, Keshod 43.2°C, Vadodara 43°C, Deesa 42.8°C, and Surat and Bhavnagar at 41.6°C. Maximum temperatures were more than 4°C above normal, while nighttime temperatures ranged between 21°C and nearly 29°C statewide.

According to the IMD forecast, no major change in maximum temperatures is expected until April 28, after which a gradual fall of 2-3°C is likely. Temperatures are very likely to remain in the 41-45°C range in inland pockets of Gujarat and 35-40°C in isolated coastal areas.
