Gundam film opens with $810k at North American box office

The latest entry in the long-running Gundam franchise debuted with $810,000 across 894 screens in North America this weekend. Mobile Suit Gundam Hathaway: The Sorcery Of Nymph Circle marks the first film in the series distributed directly by Bandai Namco Filmworks in the region.

The opening matched closely with the prior Gundam release from February 2025, which earned $882,000 in 784 theaters and finished with $1.2 million domestically. In Japan the new film has already grossed $14.7 million since its January opening. Canada accounted for more than 11 percent of the North American total, with AMC Empire in New York leading all locations.
