A remessa foi transferida da delegacia de polícia de Booysens para uma escola de polícia em Pretória e, posteriormente, para um laboratório forense. Quando Steyn solicitou acesso em dezembro de 2024, a equipe não conseguiu localizar a quantidade total. Em fevereiro de 2025, a cocaína pesava apenas 579,40 kg, deixando 136,46 kg sem explicação.
