Heavy rain hit Jakarta on Monday morning, January 12, 2026, flooding six neighborhoods and four roads in North and South Jakarta. Water levels reached up to 95 cm in some areas, while flooding triggered traffic jams and delays in Transjakarta buses.

On Monday, January 12, 2026, heavy rain struck DKI Jakarta, causing waterlogging in various areas. The Jakarta Disaster Mitigation Agency (BPBD) reported that by 09:00 WIB, six neighborhoods (RT) and four roads in North and South Jakarta were flooded. "Heavy rain that hit DKI Jakarta and its surroundings caused ponding (flooding) in several areas," said Mohamad Yohan, Head of the Disaster Data and Information Center at DKI Jakarta Provincial BPBD.

In South Jakarta, four RTs were affected: one in Duren Tiga Subdistrict at 40 cm, and three in Pasar Minggu Subdistrict at 40-95 cm due to high rainfall and overflow from Kali Krukut. In North Jakarta, two RTs in Tanjung Priok Subdistrict were inundated at 20 cm. The four flooded roads include Jalan Anggrek in Rawa Badak Utara Subdistrict, Jalan Walang Baru VII A in Tugu Utara Subdistrict, Jalan Rorotan 10 in Rorotan Subdistrict, and Jalan Taman Stasiun in Tanjung Priok Subdistrict, with depths of 10-20 cm.

Flooding also spread to areas like Rawa Bokor at 60 cm, Sunter Jaya (5-10 cm), Plumpang-Semper Koja, Jalan Raya Cilincing-Marunda, and Boulevard Kelapa Gading. This led to congestion on the Podomoro and Sunter tolls. "The density is in Podomoro, Sunter, where exits are because the arterials are flooded," said Commissioner Police Dhanar Dhono Vernandhie from Polda Metro Jaya. Officers implemented traffic rerouting, including in Plumpang and Priok 1 where sedans could not pass.

Transjakarta services were disrupted in corridors 5, 7, 9, and 10, as well as routes like 5C, 7C, 7D, 7P, 7W, 9A, 9C, B41, and D11. "The impact of heavy rain and ponding on Monday morning triggered traffic density in several Jakarta areas," said Tjahyadi DPM from Transjakarta. BPBD deployed personnel to monitor, pump water, and clean channels, while the Orange Troops in Sunter Jaya cleared drains with 30 personnel.

The Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) forecasted light rain with possible thunder throughout the day across all Jakarta areas, with temperatures of 23-28 degrees Celsius. BPBD urged residents to stay alert and call 112 for emergencies.
