On Saturday afternoon, a 34-year-old off-duty police officer surnamed Chan was driving a Porsche along On Lok Road towards Tai Kiu Road in Yuen Long when he lost control around 2:23pm, striking a 70-year-old pedestrian also surnamed Chan. Officers arrived to find the elderly man unconscious, while the driver had injuries to his hands and left knee. Both were promptly taken to Tuen Mun Hospital for treatment.

Following further investigation, the off-duty officer was arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving causing serious bodily injury. He is currently detained as part of the ongoing probe, handled by an investigation unit at the Traffic New Territories North Headquarters.
