Jackson Koivun captured his first PGA Tour victory at the 2026 3M Open, finishing at 25-under par to beat World No. 1 Scottie Scheffler by three strokes.
The 21-year-old, who turned professional just one month ago after his junior year at Auburn, secured the win in only his third start on the tour. Koivun held off a late charge from Scheffler, who carded a final-round 63 to finish at 22-under.
Koivun credited his mental approach for the victory. He said he stayed level-headed despite nerves on the 18th hole and noted that his mentality has become a key strength.
Scheffler praised Koivun’s performance after the round. The World No. 1 said winning for the first time with a big lead shows both talent and mental strength, especially for a young player coming out of college.
After the final putt, Koivun celebrated by fishing in the pond guarding the 18th hole at TPC Twin Cities. He also shared an emotional moment with his father, who was present, and spoke by video call with his mother in North Carolina.
