Jakarta government ensures Transjabodetabek fares consider residents economic capacity

The DKI Jakarta provincial government has affirmed that planned tariff adjustments for Transjabodetabek routes will take into account residents economic capacity.

Special Staff to the Governor and Deputy Governor of Jakarta for Public Communication Chico Hakim stated that Transjakarta services including Transjabodetabek carry a Public Service Obligation element. Chico emphasized that tariff affordability remains a key government concern. He said that as of June 7 2026 no decision had been made on specific Transjabodetabek fares. Governor Pramono Anung Wibowo had earlier said adjustments are needed because subsidies have become too large. Several routes including Blok M-Bandara Soekarno Hatta are scheduled for decisions in June 2026.
