Julio Le Parc morreu no sábado, em Paris, aos 97 anos. O artista argentino, conhecido por suas experimentações com luz, cor e movimento, foi uma figura de destaque na arte cinética.

Le Parc nasceu em 1928 em Palmira, Mendoza, e estabeleceu-se na França em 1958. Seu trabalho fez parte do Groupe de Recherche d’Art Visuel e explorou a percepção visual por meio de mecanismos simples.

Ele recebeu o Grande Prêmio Internacional de Pintura na Bienal de Veneza em 1966. Suas obras foram exibidas em instituições como o Palais de Tokyo, o Met Breuer e o Pérez Art Museum Miami.

O falecimento ocorre enquanto ele tinha uma exposição planejada na Tate Modern para o dia 11 de junho. Le Parc manteve laços com a Argentina ao longo de sua vida, incluindo a esfera “Sol” no Aeroporto Internacional de Ezeiza.
