Sindicato dos trabalhadores de combustíveis do Quênia condena intimidação de frentistas

O Sindicato dos Trabalhadores de Petróleo do Quênia condenou o assédio contra frentistas em meio a reclamações públicas sobre custos e problemas no fornecimento de combustível.

O sindicato divulgou um comunicado na segunda-feira, 1º de junho, alertando contra a culpa injusta direcionada aos trabalhadores da linha de frente. O texto afirma que os frentistas não são responsáveis pela produção de combustível, cadeias de suprimento ou controle de qualidade.

“O KPOWU condena veementemente a tendência crescente de culpar injustamente os frentistas por problemas que muitas vezes estão além de seu controle”, dizia a nota. O sindicato observou que os problemas operacionais decorrem frequentemente de questões com fornecedores, falhas em equipamentos ou interrupções no fornecimento de energia.

Um vídeo compartilhado pelo sindicato mostrou um cliente em um posto da Rubis Energy em Hurlingham, Nairóbi, acusando os frentistas de roubo durante uma discussão. O sindicato pediu ao público, aos empregadores e aos órgãos reguladores que abordem as causas fundamentais em vez de atacar os trabalhadores.
