Ahead of CES 2026 in Las Vegas, major Korean tech firms including LG Electronics, Hyundai Motor Group, and Samsung Electronics unveiled AI-centric products and visions. They presented strategies like 'AI in Action' and 'Physical AI,' showcasing advances in robotics, laptops, memory, and more across daily life and industry. The events emphasized AI extending beyond screens into real-world applications.

At the LG World Premiere in Las Vegas on January 5 (local time) ahead of CES 2026, LG Electronics unveiled its 'AI in Action' vision. CEO Lyu Jae-cheol asked, 'What if AI could step out of the screen and start working for us in real life?' introducing the 'Zero Labor Home' concept. Central to this is the LG CLOiD robot, equipped with two arms and five-fingered hands to handle chores like folding laundry and organizing dishes. Brandt Varner, vice president, stated, 'Though we’re still fine tuning CLOiD, we expect it to revolutionize home utility.' LG also showcased the LG OLED evo W6 TV and AI-powered Signature refrigerator.

Hyundai Motor Group, through its subsidiary Boston Dynamics, debuted the next-generation electric Atlas humanoid robot. The group aims to usher in a 'human-centric AI robotics' era by combining manufacturing expertise with datasets. Following its Nvidia partnership, it announced collaboration with Google DeepMind to advance robotics, targeting 30,000 units annual production by 2028. A Robot Metaplant Application Center is planned for the US this year.

Samsung Electronics revealed the Galaxy Book 6 series, powered by Intel Core Ultra Series 3 processors offering up to 30 hours of battery life. AI features include AI Select and AI Cut Out, with Vice President Lee Min-cheol saying it 'will deliver top-tier performance unlike anything seen before.' Samsung Display presented AI OLED concepts like the Pendant, Mirror, and Bot, highlighting AI-OLED synergy.

SK hynix unveiled the world's first 16-high 48Gb HBM4 memory, alongside AI-optimized products like LPDDR6 and 321-layer NAND. These announcements underscore Korean firms' AI leadership, drawing global attention at CES.
