McLaren, known for its Formula 1 success, has launched McLaren Golf, a new high-end equipment brand. The initiative combines the company's engineering expertise with golf innovation. Products are set to debut on April 29, 2026.
McLaren announced on March 2, 2026, the creation of McLaren Golf, extending its high-performance philosophy from motorsport and supercar engineering into golf equipment. The venture unites McLaren Racing and McLaren Automotive to set new standards in design and manufacturing, led by engineering experts and golf industry figures.
McLaren Golf CEO Neil Howie described the project as “a high-end, engineering-led venture which goes beyond the equipment.” He added, “We’re building a brand grounded in McLaren’s high-performance DNA, and embedding it in a new sporting arena. We’ve hired some of the best minds in engineering and combined them with leading figures from the golf world to create an innovation-led company that pushes the limits of what golfers can expect from their equipment. We can’t wait to see our ambition come to life on the course this year.”
McLaren Racing CEO Zak Brown emphasized the fit, stating, “At McLaren Racing, we’re driven by performance and the pursuit of excellence in everything we do. Taking our benchmark-setting engineering standards from the grid to the golf course feels like a natural step, and one that opens the McLaren brand to a new audience.” An additional statement highlighted, “McLaren has always turned technical excellence into extraordinary experiences. We’re bringing that same philosophy and applying it to our new venture, McLaren Golf. We’re creating equipment that is beautifully engineered, meticulously refined and unmistakably McLaren.”
The announcement reflects growing ties between golf and Formula 1, including shared Netflix docuseries producers for “Full Swing” and “Drive to Survive,” and F1 drivers like Lando Norris participating in golf events such as the 2023 Netflix Cup. Similarities in aerodynamics, speed, and regulatory adherence bridge the sports. McLaren's F1 team has secured 23 World Championships and over 200 Grand Prix victories. Full product details will follow the April 29 launch.
