New Doosan infielder Severino wants to spread positive energy

Yunior Severino, the new infielder for the Doosan Bears, arrived in South Korea on July 5 and held his first practice with the team on July 7. The 26-year-old switch hitter from the Dominican Republic said he aims to bring positive energy to his new club.

Severino appeared comfortable and smiling during his first workout at Jamsil Baseball Stadium despite jet lag. He told reporters through an interpreter, "I have only been in Korea for a couple of days, but I already feel at home."

He described himself as a cheerful person who wants to be remembered as a big cheerleader for teammates. The Bears signed the player after he posted a .340/.402/.529 line with five homers in 54 Mexican League games this season.

Severino replaces outfielder Daz Cameron at first base. He said he will focus on details and stay positive even on difficult days to help the team win.
