Police warn of counterfeit 500-kronor bills in circulation

Police in region Mitt have received several reports of counterfeit 500-kronor bills in circulation. The notes have been used or attempted in payments at stores and between private individuals.

The reports concern locations such as Gävle, Uppsala, Köping, and Västerås. Police urge merchants and the public to stay vigilant during cash payments and to inspect notes carefully.

Anyone who suspects counterfeit bills should contact the police. Images of a valid 500-kronor bill are available on the Riksbank website.
