Jakarta – Veda Ega Pratama is turning heads in the 2026 Moto3 World Championship. The 17-year-old rookie from Honda Team Asia, hailing from Gunungkidul, secured third place at the Brazil GP on Sunday (March 22), just two rounds after his debut fifth-place finish in Buriram, Thailand. This makes him the first Indonesian rider to podium in Moto3 and finish in the top three at an FIM World Championship Grand Prix. Veda is now gearing up for the Moto3 US GP at Circuit of the Americas in Texas on March 27-29, 2026, despite lacking prior experience on the track. “That circuit is new to me. But I will keep learning and do my best,” Veda said, quoted from the official Honda Racing website. He admitted not expecting a podium so soon, but it has boosted his confidence. “Now I know I can fight at the front. So, I want more,” stated the runner-up of the 2025 Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup and 2023 Asia Talent Cup champion. Veda highlighted the team's role. “The team did a great job so everything ran smoothly. I am very proud of the Brazil result, my biggest achievement so far,” he added. He also thanked the Indonesian public for their support. Veda's feat is reshaping the competition dynamics in this year's Moto3 class.
