Zheng'an county ships thousands of guitars for global export

As part of this year's first exports, thousands of guitars from Zheng'an county in Guizhou province are being loaded for shipment to markets including Germany and Brazil. The southwestern county hosts 144 guitar and component firms, with annual output surpassing 2.4 million instruments.

Zheng'an county in Guizhou province, known as China's guitar capital, is ramping up its global exports. On January 28, thousands of guitars were loaded onto trucks bound for Germany, Brazil, and other markets as part of the year's initial shipments.

The county is home to 144 firms producing guitars and components, with an annual output exceeding 2.4 million instruments. Yinge Musical Instrument Manufacturing is fulfilling its seventh export order this year. "Since our first shipment via the China-Europe freight train in 2020, order volumes have risen sharply," said Zheng Ming, general manager of Yinge. The company produces more than 300,000 guitars annually, all destined for international markets. Its export revenue hit 50 million yuan (about $7.18 million) in 2025, with orders for the first half of 2026 already fully booked.

Local authorities reported that Zheng'an's guitar exports totaled 229 million yuan in 2025, reaching over 40 countries and regions. Companies are shifting from contract manufacturing to innovation; for instance, Natasha Guitars now offers carbon-fiber models and smart guitars featuring onboard sound processing and a mobile app for tone and effects adjustments.

This industrial hub not only bolsters the local economy but also leverages channels like the China-Europe freight train to enhance global competitiveness.
