Dmrc partners with Airtel to launch open-loop ncmc cards

The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation has introduced co-branded open-loop National Common Mobility Cards in partnership with Airtel Payments Bank.

The new RuPay ‘On-The-Go’ NCMC cards aim to replace older closed-loop smart cards that the DMRC introduced in 2020. These open-loop cards allow payments across multiple transit systems including metros and buses nationwide.

DMRC Managing Director Vikas Kumar stated that the debit and PPI-MTS cards will let commuters use a single card for travel in various cities. Older smart cards remain valid but are no longer sold.

The cards will be available at all DMRC stations within the next 10 days. Commuters can also recharge them digitally through the DMRC app or the Airtel app.
