Re-polling is taking place in West Bengal's Falta assembly constituency on Thursday with doubled security arrangements by the Election Commission.
The previous poll on April 29 was cancelled after allegations of EVM tampering. This time eight Central Armed Police Force personnel have been posted at each of the 285 polling stations. Around 35 companies of central forces have been deployed across the constituency.
Thirty quick response teams stand ready to act on any disturbance. Two web cameras inside and one outside each station are recording the process. Webcasting is under way and drone surveillance is also being used.
Three election observers are overseeing the voting. Meanwhile TMC candidate Jahangir Khan has announced he is stepping away from the electoral process.
