Mattias Ekholm tackar ja till VM-spel efter OS-nobben

Backen Mattias Ekholm har tackat ja till att representera Sverige i det kommande världsmästerskapet i Schweiz. Den 35-årige Edmonton-spelaren missade OS men gör nu sitt första VM-framträdande sedan 2018.

Tre Kronors förbundskapten Sam Hallam bekräftade förstärkningen efter direkt kontakt med Ekholm efter att NHL-säsongen tagit slut. Hallam berättade att Ekholm spelat samtliga 82 grundseriematcher och kände sig pigg när han fick frågan om att ansluta till truppen. Laget inleder turneringen mot Kanada på fredag kväll i Fribourg.
