Mito Pereira announces retirement from golf at age 30

Chilean golfer Guillermo 'Mito' Pereira announced his retirement from professional golf at age 30, after a notable career in LIV Golf. The decision accelerated due to his drop in the circuit and a key conversation with former tennis player Fernando González. Pereira expressed peace over achieving milestones and plans to focus on his family.

Last Monday, Guillermo 'Mito' Pereira shook the golf world by announcing his retirement at age 30. The native of Pirque, who had been a rumor in the fairways months earlier, made the decision after his drop in LIV Golf, a millionaire circuit where he had one year left on his contract.

Cumplí varios logros y estoy muy tranquilo y muy feliz", explained Pereira after the announcement.

His entourage maintained secrecy to avoid interference. A key influence was a conversation with Fernando González in early November.

González, a triple Olympic medalist who retired from tennis at 31 in 2012, was not surprised by the coffee invitation.

Both shared similar experiences, recognizing the importance of personal decisions despite external opinions.

Pereira, with over US$ 20 million in prizes, has no defined plans. Months from turning 31, he begins a dreamed new stage off the courses.
