Capcom reports strong sales for Pragmata and Resident Evil

Capcom released its Q1 2026 financial report showing robust performance from recent titles. Pragmata has sold over 2.5 million copies since its April launch, while Resident Evil Requiem surpassed 8 million units worldwide.

The Japanese publisher highlighted that strong new and catalog title performance drove year-on-year growth in unit sales. Pragmata reached 2.5 million copies through promotional activities, according to the report. Resident Evil Requiem added one million copies in the latest period to reach its year-to-date total.

Capcom sold 23.81 million games last quarter, up from 14.16 million in the same period last year. Pragmata ranked as the top seller, followed by the 2023 Resident Evil 4. Seven of the top 10 titles were older Resident Evil entries.

The Resident Evil series has now sold 213 million copies since 1996, making it the third-best-selling Japanese gaming franchise behind Mario and Pokémon. Street Fighter passed 60 million lifetime sales, and Monster Hunter reached 131 million.
