Mahakama Kuu imesimamisha ujenzi wa mradi wa nyumba za gharama nafuu katika Githunguri, Kiambu, baada ya wazee wa Kikuyu kudai ardhi hiyo ina makaburi ya wapiganiaji wa Mau Mau. Wakati huo huo, Rais William Ruto ameamuru ubomoaji wa miundombinu katika Uwanja wa Gusii na Uwanja wa Ndege wa Suneka. Hali hii inaweka mabilioni ya fedha za umma hatarini.

Mahakama Kuu imetoa amri ya kusitisha shughuli zote katika ekari 58 za Kiawairera, Githunguri, ikiwa ni pigo kwa ajenda ya Rais William Ruto ya makazi. Walalamishi wanasema ardhi hiyo ina makaburi ya Mau Mau, eneo la kunyonga wafungwa na mahali pa zamani pa chuo cha walimu cha Githunguri kilichofungwa 1952. Wanadai serikali haikushirikisha umma wala kuzingatia sheria za urithi.

Katika Kisii na Nyamira, Rais Ruto ameamuru ubomoaji wa sehemu za Uwanja wa Gusii na jengo la abiria la Uwanja wa Ndege wa Suneka. "Jengo hili linafanana na nyumba ya makazi. Nimeamuru libomolewe na kujengwa jipya," alisema Rais. Uwanja wa Suneka ulikuwa umeboreshwa kwa Sh52 milioni, na mpango wa Sh132 milioni ulipangwa kabla ya uchaguzi wa 2022.

Uwanja wa Gusii, ulioimarishwa kwa zaidi ya Sh200 milioni miaka iliyopita na Sh34 milioni mwaka 2024, utajengwa upya kwa Sh1 bilioni uwezo wa watu 14,000. Uchambuzi unaonyesha zaidi ya Sh500 milioni zinaweza kupotea kutokana na mabadiliko haya.
