Ruto anasema mradi wa Barabara ya Mau Mau utakamilika ndani ya miaka miwili

Rais William Ruto ametangaza kuwa mradi wa Barabara ya Mau Mau unaounganisha kaunti nne umefika asilimia 60 na utakamilika ndani ya miaka miwili. Alitoa taarifa hiyo wakati wa hafla ya kanisani AIC Githumu, Kandara, Murang’a County. Serikali imetenga Ksh2 bilioni kwa sehemu ya barabara hiyo.

Aliongeza, “Sasa tumeweka Ksh2 bilioni kwenye Mau Mau Roads Project ili ikamilike kwa wakati, hata hivyo ndani ya miaka miwili ijayo.” Ksh2 bilioni hiyo itahudumia sehemu ya barabara inayopita Murang’a County kwa umbali wa kilomita 48.

Mradi wa Barabara ya Mau Mau unaunganisha kaunti za Kiambu, Murang’a, Nyeri na Nyandarua, ukiwa na urefu wa takriban kilomita 540, gharama ya takriban Ksh30 bilioni. Mradi ulianza miaka miwili iliyopita, kufuata njia za wapigania uhuru wakati wa uasi wa Mau Mau, na lengo la kuboresha usafirishaji wa mazao kama chai na kahawa.

Mradi huu ni sehemu ya mpango wa Ruto wa kujenga kilomita zaidi ya 28,000 za barabara ndani ya miaka saba, chini ya “Singapore Dream” yake ya kugeuza Kenya kuwa nchi ya kwanza.
