Ruto anuana maendeleo ya mradi wa barabara 250km Nairobi

Rais William Ruto amefichua maendeleo ya mradi wa kutengeneza barabara za tarmac zaidi ya kilomita 250 ndani ya Nairobi County. Alisema kilomita 67 ziko chini ya ujenzi, na kilomita 70 zitaanza wiki ijayo. Matangazo haya yanafuata makubaliano na Gavana Johnson Sakaja.

Rais William Ruto alizungumza wakati wa ibada ya Jumapili katika Kanisa la Karen Africa Gospel Church (AGC) Nairobi tarehe 19 Aprili. Alisema, “Kama nilivyowaambia uongozi wa Nairobi, tayari tumechora karibu kilomita 250 za tarmac karibu na Nairobi.” Aliongeza, “Kilomita 67 ziko chini ya ujenzi, na tunaanza kilomita 70 ijayo wiki ijayo, na zingine zitafuata.”

Ruto alisisitiza umuhimu wa kuboresha Nairobi ili kuwapa wageni picha bora ya Kenya. “Kama watawapo maoni mabaya ya Nairobi, wataibeba maoni mabaya ya Kenya, kwa hivyo ni muhimu kuifanya mji huu uiwakilisha vizuri nchi yetu,” alisema.

Matangazo haya yanatokana na makubaliano ya Ksh80 bilioni yaliyosainiwa na Ruto na Gavana Johnson Sakaja tarehe 17 Februari katika State House, Nairobi. Makubaliano hayo yanahusu barabara, maji, nyumba na usimamizi wa takataka, bila kuhamisha majukumu ya kaunti kwa serikali kuu.

Ruto pia alitangaza mradi wa kuweka zaidi ya taa 40,000 za mitaa Nairobi, ikiwemo maeneo ya makazi, ili kufanya mji kuwa wa saa 24. Hii ni sehemu ya mpango mkubwa wa kutengeneza barabara 28,000km nchini ndani ya miaka saba chini ya nembo ya “Singapore Dream.”
