Lesufi commits to resolving community challenges in Ratanda

Gauteng Premier Panyaza Lesufi has pledged to address complaints from Ratanda residents about electricity failures, crime and service delivery shortcomings.

Gauteng Premier Panyaza Lesufi met residents of Ratanda in the Lesedi Local Municipality on Thursday afternoon as part of a provincial service delivery engagement.

Residents raised concerns over broken electricity transformers, insufficient support for indigent households, high crime levels and general service delivery failures.

Lesufi committed to returning with solutions after reviewing budgets. He said he would bring all MECs and relevant national ministers to help resolve the matters.

“The concerns that you have raised, they have touched me. It is not an issue of listening only, but coming up with the solutions to fix the problems. I want to thank you for the respect that you have shown. I want to thank you for the time you have taken to be with us, allow me to go and check our budgets. I’ll come with all the MECs and the affected ministers from National. We must sort out the problems of Rwanda once and for all.”
