Porsche discontinues performance e-bike division

Porsche is shutting down its electric bicycle subsidiary after nearly four years of operation. The move comes as the German automaker refocuses on its core business amid shifting market conditions.

Porsche announced it will close Porsche eBike Performance GmbH, which it launched in August 2022 to develop high-performance e-bike drive systems. The company plans to shut factories in Ottobrunn, Germany, and Zagreb, Croatia, affecting around 350 employees. Several e-bike models were produced, including the Porsche eBike Sport, which reached its fifth generation with a starting price of $10,920, and the off-road Porsche eBike Cross.
