Rais William Ruto ametangaza mipango ya kuweka wasanii na waundaji wa maudhui katika nafasi za umma chini ya Idara ya Uchumi wa Ubunifu. Tangazo hili lilitolewa katika Tamasha la Kitaifa la Mchezo wa Drama kwenye Ikulu ya Nairobi tarehe 17 Aprili 2026. Pia ameamuru ufadhili kamili wa tamasha na utoaji wa capitation ya shule Ksh 23 bilioni.

"Ninapenda kuwa Kamisheni ya Utumishi wa Umma imeidhinisha muundo wa wafanyikazi wa Idara ya Uchumi wa Ubunifu. Hivi karibuni, tutaleta huduma na vipaji vyenu serikalini ili kuendeleza maono haya," alisema Ruto.

Ameamuru Wizara ya Elimu ifadhili kikamilifu Tamasha la Kitaifa la Drama kama jukwaa la masomo ya ziada. Pia, ameamuru Kamisheni ya Filamu ya Kenya (KFC) kuanzisha makundi maalum ya filamu na michezo ya wanafunzi katika tuzo kama Kalasha Awards.

Aidha, ameamuru Wizara ya ICT kutenga angalau asilimia 30 ya matangazo ya serikali kwa wasanii wa ndani. Rais pia alizindua jukwaa la Soma Play kwenye eCitizen kwa ajili ya mauzo ya maudhui ya drama ya watoto, na mapato kurudi shuleni.

Kwa upande wa elimu, alimwamuru Waziri wa Elimu Julius Ogamba kutoa Ksh 23 bilioni za capitation kabla ya wiki ijayo, mbele ya kufunguliwa kwa shule Aprili 27.
