Taylor Sheridan is best known today as the co-creator and writer behind the Paramount neo-Western drama Yellowstone, where he also appears as the cowboy character Travis Wheatley. A notable but lesser-remembered credit came in 2004 during the third season of Star Trek: Enterprise, which aired from 2001 to 2005 before its cancellation after four seasons. In the episode titled 'Chosen Realm,' Sheridan played Jareb, a member of the ultra-religious Triannon cult.
The storyline centers on the Enterprise crew rescuing a ship of Triannons, who reveal themselves as dangerous fanatics aiming to seize the starship for destructive purposes. While the main antagonist is the Triannon captain D'Jamat, played by Conor O'Farrell, Jareb serves as a key villain, tasked with overtaking the ship's science station. Sheridan's face is heavily obscured by alien prosthetics, and his name appears misspelled as 'Tayler Sheridan' in the credits, contributing to the role's obscurity among fans of both Star Trek and his later work.
This one-time appearance marks Sheridan's only venture into the Star Trek franchise as the character Jareb does not return. The episode's hijacking plot highlights the Triannons' zealotry, with the crew ultimately resolving the threat.
