Thick As Thieves ends support after two months

OtherSide Entertainment has announced the end of content updates for Thick As Thieves, the co-op game from Thief creator Warren Spector. The studio, reduced to fewer than ten employees after layoffs, will instead focus on preserving server access through peer-to-peer options.

Director Jeff Hickman confirmed the decision in a studio update posted on July 25. "This means there will be no further content updates for Thick As Thieves," he wrote. "To be frank, this is not the outcome that any of us want, but we’re facing the reality that ongoing development of extra content, modes and systems is not a viable path."

The game launched in late May 2026. OtherSide Entertainment faced major layoffs one month later, leaving only a small team and publisher Megabit to maintain it. The remaining staff plan to explore peer-to-peer fan servers if official support ends, while solo-player mode continues unchanged.

Thick As Thieves drew from Spector’s immersive sim roots but adopted a simpler co-op loot-em-up format aimed at broader audiences.
