Peter, a Cybertruck owner from California, visited a Tesla service center in early November 2025 for a cantrail replacement due to a recall on his All-Wheel Drive model. The receptionist informed him that his tires required replacement because of low tread depth, measuring 3-4/32 inches after only 11 months of ownership and 14,000 miles.
Peter's vehicle came equipped with the standard OEM Pirelli Scorpion all-season tires. He emphasized that he rotated the tires every 6,000 miles, never drove off-road, typically used chill mode, and achieved an efficiency of 280 Wh/mile. Frustrated by the unexpected wear, he shared photos of the tires in the Cybertruck Owners Only Facebook group, questioning if others faced similar issues: "I'd like to ask everyone, are your tires also this short-lived?"
Responses from other owners varied widely. Some reported comparable rapid wear: Cliff Richards noted 15,000 miles on his Pirelli Scorpions with over half the tread gone on Pennsylvania roads, predicting they would not last 40,000 miles. Dante Weston described his tires in similar condition at 15,500 miles, while Kurt Thomson replaced his rear tires at 8,000 miles for $650 each, calling it a "ripoff."
