Numarine 27XP yacht debuts silent hybrid system

Turkish shipyard Numarine has unveiled a technological upgrade for its 27XP explorer yacht, featuring Sleipner's Mk2 Super Silent Pack for generator-free operation. The system, set to debut in May 2026, enables quiet, efficient power management at anchor and underway. This innovation builds on the yard's previous collaborations in noise reduction.

Numarine, a Turkish superyacht builder, announced enhancements to its first 27-metre 27XP explorer yacht, scheduled for launch in May 2026. The upgrade involves a partnership with marine technology firm Sleipner, integrating the Mk2 Super Silent Pack centered on a Hybrid Power Centre. This fully integrated 48-volt DC architecture uses smaller, lighter cabling to deliver higher power output while minimizing energy losses, allowing for extended silent operation both at anchor and during transit.

The system includes a 92.8kWh lithium iron phosphate battery bank and 5.6kW of solar panels, supporting generator-free use day and night when anchored. A Sleep Mode further cuts nighttime energy needs. Underway, the batteries charge via power take-off generators from the main engines. Power coordination draws from engines, solar, shore supplies, and advanced load management to sustain demands for stabilizers, thrusters, and station-keeping.

This setup aims to cut generator runtime, boost reliability, and ease maintenance while ensuring steady power. It extends Numarine's explorer range, following work with Silent Line on the 30XP models, and claims one of the quietest profiles in its class.

Patrik von Sydow, Numarine CEO since December 2025, stated: “The result is quiet, fume-free living at anchor and underway, dramatically reduced generator hours, extended service intervals, and lower maintenance demands. With the Mk2 Super Silent Pack and Sleipner’s Hybrid Power Centre, the 27XP establishes a future-ready electrical foundation that combines technical sophistication with the refined, effortless comfort increasingly expected of today’s explorer yachts.”

Marius Torjusen, Sleipner’s chief commercial officer, added: “I would like to congratulate Numarine on a fantastic project. The 27XP sets a new benchmark for what I believe many owners will come to expect from future yachts in terms of comfort, efficiency, and quiet operation.”
