岭南大学科学教研组助理教授叶志豪与华南师范大学的王俊杰共同领导了这项研究。他们开发了一种遗传鉴定方法,用于检测海洋环境中残留的黄唇鱼DNA痕迹。

这一珍稀物种的DNA于去年9月在香港西部水域被识别出。此前一个月,约1300条人工繁育的黄唇鱼幼鱼从内地被放流至珠江口。岭南大学表示,这一发现表明部分被放流的鱼类可能已经进入了香港水域。

叶志豪表示:“我们研究团队开发的新型检测技术具有高度灵敏性,如果鱼类曾经过某个区域并留下了极微量的环境DNA,其踪迹就能被准确测定。”环境DNA是指生物体排放到周围环境中的遗传物质。
