Head of the National Nutrition Agency Dadan Hindayana stressed that the Free Nutritious Meal program must prioritize local food products. The move aims to support local economies in the regions.
Dadan Hindayana instructed all Nutrition Fulfillment Service Units to prioritize egg and food supplies from local breeders and businesses. The policy aligns with President Prabowo Subianto's directive requiring domestic production for eggs in the program.
According to Dadan, the National Nutrition Agency does not set a uniform national menu. Instead, it establishes nutrition composition standards and places nutrition experts at each kitchen to design menus based on local food potential.
The program is designed to meet one-quarter to one-third of children's daily nutrition needs. RISED data shows 81 percent of vulnerable families support the program's continuation.
