Menurut Dadan, Badan Gizi Nasional tidak menetapkan menu nasional secara seragam. Sebaliknya, lembaga tersebut hanya menetapkan standar komposisi gizi dan menempatkan ahli gizi di setiap dapur untuk menyusun menu berdasarkan potensi pangan daerah.

Program ini dirancang untuk memenuhi seperempat hingga sepertiga kebutuhan gizi harian anak. Data RISED menunjukkan 81 persen keluarga rentan mendukung keberlanjutan program tersebut.
