Glasner appointed Nottingham Forest manager on three-year deal

Oliver Glasner has been unveiled as Nottingham Forest’s new head coach following his departure from Crystal Palace. The Austrian signed a three-year contract and becomes the club’s fourth permanent manager in less than a year.

Glasner was presented at the City Ground on Wednesday after replacing Vitor Pereira. He succeeds a line of coaches that also included Ange Postecoglou and Sean Dyche since Nuno Espirito Santo left last summer.

The 51-year-old said he focuses only on success and does not consider the possibility of dismissal. “I never sign and think about getting sacked,” Glasner stated. “I just think: ‘OK, what do we have to do to bring success to the club?’”

He stressed that Forest will develop its own style rather than replicate his former team’s tactics. Transfer activity is expected to pick up after the World Cup, with a midfielder, goalkeeper and striker among the priorities.

Glasner takes charge of his first match on Saturday in a pre-season friendly against Notts County.
