Morón council approves interpellation of Lucas Ghi over drug trafficking case

The Deliberative Council of Morón approved on Thursday the interpellation of Mayor Lucas Ghi following the discovery of half a kilo of cocaine in the home of a former municipal official.

The vote obtained 16 votes in favor and 8 against. It was promoted by councilor Analía Zappulla of La Libertad Avanza.

Former director Luna Suyai Ortigoza faces charges of possession of narcotics for commercialization and illegal possession of a firearm. She was dismissed from the municipality and remains a fugitive.

Ghi stated he felt defrauded and said he removed the official after learning of the case through the police. The internal rift between Ghi and Martín Sabbatella was again evident in the session.
