Renault Spain management and unions UGT and CCOO have signed a 2026-2028 collective agreement pre-deal that unlocks three electric vehicles for Palencia and two hybrids for Valladolid.
The pre-agreement was reached on May 26 after a meeting at the Ministry of Industry chaired by Minister Jordi Hereu. It averts planned strikes and keeps Spain as a strategic base for the group’s electrification.
The text includes one-off gross payments of 400 euros in 2026 and 2027 plus 200 euros in 2028, a 15 % rise in overtime rates and 300 permanent contracts. The company will also invest at least 300,000 euros annually in plant improvements.
Unions CSIF and CGT rejected the deal, calling the wage recovery insufficient after the 2021-2022 freezes. Management had tied new model allocations to acceptance of this labor framework.
The agreement coincides with the departure of Josep Maria Recasens as president of Renault Spain to join Indra as chief executive.
