الولايات المتحدة تمنع مسؤولاً في الشرطة التنزانية من دخول أراضيها

حظرت الحكومة الأمريكية مسؤول الشرطة التنزاني فوستين جاكسون مافويل من دخول البلاد على خلفية اتهامات بتورطه في الإساءة إلى نشطاء.

أعلن وزير الخارجية الأمريكي ماركو روبيو عن هذا الحظر في 21 مايو 2026، بموجب المادة 7031(ج). وربطت التقارير المسؤول بالاحتجاز غير القانوني والتعذيب والاعتداء الجنسي على الناشطين بونيفاس موانجي وأغاثا أتوهير أثناء تواجدهما في تنزانيا في مايو 2025.

وكان الناشطان قد سافرا إلى دار السلام لحضور محاكمة زعيم المعارضة توندو ليسو، حيث جرى اقتيادهما من فندقهما واحتجازهما والاعتداء عليهما قبل أن يتم إلقاؤهما بالقرب من حدود بلديهما.

وعُثر على موانجي حياً في أوكوندا في 22 مايو 2025 بعد احتجازه لأكثر من ثلاثة أيام. وأكد روبيو أن هذا الإجراء يمنع مافويل من دخول الولايات المتحدة بسبب ارتكابه انتهاكات جسيمة لحقوق الإنسان.

The US State Department announced on Monday (April 20) that it asked Federal Police delegate Marcelo Ivo de Carvalho to leave the United States, accusing him of manipulating the immigration system in the case of former deputy Alexandre Ramagem. Ivo served as liaison officer to ICE in Miami since August 2023. The PF stated it was not formally notified and that the replacement was already scheduled.

Tanzanian artist Matonya released on bail from Shimo la Tewa prison

Tanzanian Bongo Flava artist Sefu Shabani Ramadhan, known as Matonya, has been released on bail from Shimo la Tewa Prison after more than 20 days in custody over rape allegations. He walked free on Tuesday evening after fulfilling Shanzu Court's conditions. The case is due for mention on April 30.
