Toronto launches first bagels and beer festival this spring

Henderson Brewing Co. is hosting Toronto's inaugural Bagels, Schmears, Solly's and Beer Fest on April 25. The event will feature bagels from top local makers, paired with beers and sodas at the Junction Triangle brewery. Tickets are priced at $15 and include entry, a soda, and a half bagel with schmear.

Henderson Brewing Co., known for events like Picklefest and Rush Day, is partnering with Dished Toronto and food reviewer Rick Silver to bring Toronto's first beer and bagel festival to the city. The Bagels, Schmears, Solly's and Beer Fest is scheduled for Saturday, April 25, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the brewery's location on 128A Sterling Rd. in the Junction Triangle.

Participating bagel vendors include Bagel World, Primrose, Gryfe's, Lev, Bagel Plus, Kettlemans, and AM Bagel. Additional food options will come from Ethica Coffee, XO Bisous, Langley Foods, Brined Pickles, and Kwinter’s Hot Dogs. Attendees can enjoy Henderson beers and Solly's Craft Soda, the brewery's house-made soda brand founded by Adin Wener.

The festival aims to celebrate Toronto's bagel culture, which Silver described as one of the best anywhere. "When [Solly's founder Adin Wener] approached me about partnering on Bagel Fest, it was an immediate yes," Silver said. "Toronto has one of the best bagel scenes anywhere, and bringing all these legendary spots together with Solly's, Henderson beer, live music, and the community is going to be incredible. This is exactly the kind of event that Dick's World loves being part of."

Wener added, "We wanted to create something that celebrates Toronto's bagel culture properly. Between the bagels, schmears, Solly's, beer, and live music, it's going to be one of the most fun food events in the city this spring."

Entertainment includes DJs and a live band. Tickets, available on Henderson's website, cost $15 and grant access plus one Solly's soda and a half bagel with schmear from any vendor. The event is described as a full day dedicated to bagels, one of the greatest food groups.
