Undersøgelse foreslår nye regler for gældsatte personer

En statslig undersøgelse ønsker at ændre reglerne for gæld, der håndteres af Kronofogden. Betalinger bør primært nedbringe hovedstolen.

Undersøgelsen SOU 2026:43 foreslår en ny rækkefølge for afvikling af forbrugerkrav. Betalinger bør først nedbringe hovedstolen og kun i sidste instans gå til renter og gebyrer. Cecilia Hegethorn Mogensen, fungerende rigskronofoged, oplyser, at omkring 100.000 mennesker har haft sager hos Kronofogden i 20 år eller mere. Hun betegner dem som evighedsdebitorer. Gældssaneringsperioden foreslås forkortet fra fem til tre år. Ændringerne vedrørende gældssanering skal træde i kraft den 1. juli 2028, og den nye afviklingsrækkefølge den 1. januar 2031.
