Tesla has begun deploying its Full Self-Driving (FSD) version 14.1 to early access users, introducing robotaxi-like features such as automatic parking options and improved navigation. The update, released on October 7, 2025, marks the first public launch of this iteration after a delay due to a last-minute bug. Elon Musk outlined a roadmap for subsequent versions, promising enhancements that will make the system feel sentient.

Tesla's Full Self-Driving v14.1 update, part of software version 2025.32.8.5, started rolling out on October 7, 2025, initially to early access testers. This release follows a six-month gap since FSD v13 and incorporates a new 10x parameter architecture for better performance. Key improvements include arrival options for parking, allowing users to select preferences like parking lot, street, driveway, parking garage, or curbside. The system now handles pulling over for emergency vehicles such as police cars, fire trucks, and ambulances, and integrates navigation into the vision-based neural network for real-time detours around blocked roads.

Early impressions highlight more realistic speed profiles, with the 'Hurry' mode driving slightly above speed limits in a natural manner, unlike the conservative hovering in v13.2.9. Users reported confident navigation through congested parking lots, including backing into Supercharger stalls and selecting spots at stores and grocery stores after one loop. In a test in Dallastown, Pennsylvania, FSD backed out of an intersection when the light turned red during a left turn, yielding safely without proceeding illegally.

However, some bugs persist: one instance involved a false right turn signal as if yielding to an unseen emergency vehicle, possibly triggered by a dump truck. Navigation issues included an illogical Supercharger exit and ignoring a straight route to turn right despite override, requiring manual intervention.

Elon Musk stated on X, 'Great work by the Tesla AI team! And much more still to come. By V14.3, your car will feel like it is sentient.' He announced V14.2 in a few weeks and V14.3 shortly after, pending safety tests, with Tesla VP of AI Ashok Elluswamy adding, 'many follow up releases with significant improvements' before year-end. For Cybertruck owners, Elluswamy confirmed the full-featured update, including reverse and parking, is 'coming soon' due to additional training for its all-wheel steering.

These changes aim for human-like driving, anticipating actions and reducing jerky inputs, though wider rollout depends on resolving issues.
