Addis Abeba, 14. Mai 2026. Abebaw Ayalew, Generaldirektor der äthiopischen Behörde für Kulturgüterschutz, erklärte, die Rückgabe sei Teil der Bemühungen, Äthiopiens historische und kulturelle Spuren wiederherzustellen.

Die Artefakte waren viele Jahre im Ausland verblieben und gelten als bedeutende Zeugen der alten Zivilisation und Souveränität Äthiopiens.

Ihre Rückgabe wird als wichtiges Kapitel gewertet, das Äthiopiens historischen Besitzanspruch und diplomatischen Erfolg unterstreicht.
