Er schlug seinen ersten Abschlag in die Mitte des 430 Yards langen Par-4-Lochs und beendete das Loch nach zwei Putts mit einer 6 auf der Scorekarte. Damit lag er nach dem ersten Loch zwei Schläge über Par, bevor er sich wieder fing und eine Runde von 69 Schlägen notieren konnte.
