Granada's City Hall has announced the death of Juan Ramón Ferreira Siles, who served as fourth deputy mayor and councilor for the Culture and Tourism Department on behalf of the Popular Party (PP). The passing occurred on Wednesday, December 31, prompting the council to declare a day of official mourning in the city.

Mayor Marifrán Carazo voiced her deep sorrow in an official statement, mourning the loss and offering the city's "most heartfelt condolences to his entire family and loved ones." On her X social media account, alongside a photo with Ferreira, Carazo portrayed him as "a special man, good colleague, father, and friend" who invested "effort and will" in his public life serving Granada. She concluded by extending her "gratitude" and "affection," wishing him peace.

Juanma Moreno, president of the Andalusian Regional Government and the Andalusian PP, also responded on X, noting that Ferreira was "one of those people who honored politics with his presence." He added: "Good colleague, good friend. He leaves us too soon. A big hug and all my affection to his family." Ferreira had previously served as a PP-A parliamentarian in the Andalusian Parliament, highlighting his regional political career.
