Kenias Junior Starlets sicherten sich einen 2:0-Sieg über Südafrika im Hinspiel der letzten Qualifikationsrunde für die FIFA U-17-Weltmeisterschaft der Frauen.

Das Spiel fand gestern Abend im Lucas Moripe Stadium in Pretoria statt. Verteidigerin Faith Boke traf in der 14. Minute, und Stürmerin Brenda Achieng’ erzielte das zweite Tor in der 61. Minute.

Das Team von Trainerin Mildred Cheche benötigt nun nur noch ein Unentschieden oder darf mit maximal einem Tor Unterschied zu Hause verlieren, um sich zu qualifizieren. Das Rückspiel ist für diesen Sonntag im Nyayo National Stadium in Nairobi angesetzt.

Südafrika muss mit drei Toren Vorsprung oder mehr gewinnen, um weiterzukommen. Die Endrunde findet vom 17. Oktober bis zum 8. November in Marokko statt.
