New giant mural in Uppsala honors Owe Thörnqvist

A new large mural has been painted in Uppsala. It shows Dagny serving coffee as a tribute to musician Owe Thörnqvist. Artist Charlie Granberg created the work.

The mural is located on a building next to an earlier wall painting from 2021. That earlier image shows the cats Pelle Svanslös and Maja Gräddnos on a 16-meter-high facade in Påvel Snickares Gränd.

The property companies that commissioned the new mural wanted a tribute to Owe Thörnqvist. Charlie Granberg contacted his music-interested father to get ideas for the motif.

Granberg painted the first cat image in the middle of the pandemic. He has now returned to the area to create the new work depicting a serving Dagny.
