Taron Egerton kontaktierte The Chemical Brothers und Q-Tip, um die Erlaubnis für den Titel 'Go' einzuholen, nachdem er die Idee Regisseur Baltasar Kormákur vorgeschlagen hatte. In seinem Brief erklärte er, dass er die Musik des Duos seit seiner frühen Jugend liebe und sich daran erinnere, wie beeindruckt er von einem Live-Auftritt mit riesigen schwebenden Robotern gewesen sei. Er fügte hinzu, dass er eine Szene schaffen wollte, die sich seltsam und beunruhigend anfühlt, dafür aber ihre Hilfe mit diesem Lied benötigte.
