Two new cafes open in East Bay with Cali Grill revamp

Blue Drip Co. Cafe has opened in Alameda, while Cafe Santana prepares a grand opening in Oakland. Cali Grill has reopened in Berkeley after a revamp. These developments add to the East Bay's food scene.

Blue Drip Co. Cafe opened its doors this past Saturday inside the Storehouse Lofts, a live/work space in West Alameda. The shop serves coffee drinks and Italian sodas, and also sells soy candles in scents such as pineapple passionfruit and white tea, along with diffusers. It is located at 2350 Saratoga St., Unit 101, Alameda.

Cafe Santana, an Oakland-based cafe and roastery, has soft opened its second location on MacArthur Boulevard. The grand opening is scheduled for February 28, featuring live music, a DJ, local artists, vendors, and coffee. The cafe offers a home delivery coffee bean subscription service. The new site is at 2700 MacArthur Blvd., Oakland.

Cali Grill has reopened following a temporary closure at the beginning of the year for a revamp. Previously known as Cal’s Fried Chicken and Burgers, it serves a similar menu including burgers, chicken sandwiches, and chopped cheese sandwiches, with some new additions. The restaurant is at 2026 University Ave., Berkeley.

These openings and the revamp reflect ongoing activity in the East Bay's restaurant landscape, as covered by Nosh, which tracks food news in Berkeley, Oakland, Richmond, and surrounding areas. The articles were published on February 24, 2026.
