Police hand over files of three suspects in PT DSI fraud case to prosecutors

The Directorate of Special Economic Crimes at Bareskrim Polri has handed over stage I files in the alleged fraud case of PT Dana Syariah Indonesia to public prosecutors at the Attorney General's Office. Three suspects are detained on charges of embezzlement and money laundering causing Rp2.4 trillion in losses. Police also seized assets worth Rp300 billion, including offices and land.

On Wednesday around 12:00 WIB, the investigative team from the Directorate of Special Economic Crimes at Bareskrim Polri sent the stage I case files in the alleged fraud by PT Dana Syariah Indonesia (DSI) to the public prosecutors at the Attorney General's Office of Indonesia. "On Wednesday around 12:00 WIB, the investigative team has sent the investigation results packaged in the case files to the public prosecutors team at the Attorney General's Office RI (stage I),” stated Director of Special Economic Crimes at Bareskrim Polri, Brigadier General Police Ade Safri Simanjuntak, on Thursday, March 12, 2026.

The files involve three suspects: TA (Taufiq Aljufri) as Director General and shareholder of PT DSI; MY as former Director of PT DSI, shareholder, and Director General of PT Mediffa Barokah Internasional and PT Duo Properti Lestari; and ARL as Commissioner and shareholder of PT DSI. They are suspected of committing embezzlement in office, embezzlement, fraud, electronic fraud, creating false accounting records, and money laundering (TPPU) related to channeling public funds using fictitious projects from 2008–2015. The total loss is estimated at Rp2.4 trillion, and the suspects are detained at Bareskrim Polri's detention center.

Public prosecutors will review the files for seven days regarding formal and material completeness. Meanwhile, investigators seized movable assets including one four-wheeled vehicle and two two-wheeled vehicles owned by PT DSI. Immovable assets include three office units in South Jakarta, one shophouse in Buncit South Jakarta, land and building of 11,576 square meters in Bekasi Regency, empty land of 401 square meters in South Jakarta, empty land of about 5.3 hectares in Bandung West Java, and land and building of about 5,480 square meters in Deli Serdang Regency North Sumatra, which is in process. “Already status quo in the seizure process,” said Ade Safri Simanjuntak.

Investigators also seized 683 certificates of ownership (SHM)/certificates of building rights (SHGB) as receivables, Rp2.1 billion in cash, blocked 31 accounts worth Rp4 billion, and 13 deposit accounts worth Rp18.8 billion. The total value of temporarily secured assets is around Rp300 billion. Asset tracing will continue for further investigation into additional potential suspects and the PT DSI corporation to recover victims' losses.
