Instituciones chinas lideran las contribuciones globales a la conferencia de IA

Las instituciones de China continental representaron el 44 por ciento de los 50 principales contribuyentes en la Conferencia Internacional sobre Representaciones de Aprendizaje celebrada en Río de Janeiro el mes pasado. La Universidad de Tsinghua lideró con 332 trabajos aceptados.

Las universidades chinas continentales ocuparon los cuatro primeros puestos a nivel mundial, incluyendo la Universidad de Tsinghua, la Universidad Jiao Tong de Shanghái, la Universidad de Zhejiang y la Universidad de Pekín. Hong Kong contribuyó con el 7,7 por ciento de los trabajos y los totales combinados superan la mitad.

Estados Unidos le siguió con un 32 por ciento, liderado por la Universidad de Stanford, la Universidad Carnegie Mellon y el Instituto Tecnológico de Massachusetts. Cada una produjo aproximadamente la mitad de trabajos que Tsinghua.

El análisis del científico informático ucraniano Dmytro Lopushanskyy destacó la sólida posición de China en la investigación de IA. Un empresario de Silicon Valley escribió en redes sociales que al contar a investigadores de Hong Kong, Singapur y chino-estadounidenses, la investigación en IA se convierte “básicamente en un negocio chino”.
